Riding for Gold: Para Equestrian Sienna Busking Eyes the World Stage

In the sun-drenched heart of Oklahoma, a rising star is galloping toward greatness. Sienna Busking, a Grade III para equestrian with an unstoppable spirit and a deep bond with her horses, is turning heads across the nation. With an impressive versatility that spans vaulting, jumping, and para dressage, Sienna has quickly become one of the most compelling young athletes in adaptive equestrian sport today.

At just 17 years old, Sienna currently holds the #2 ranking in Intermediate Para Dressage in the United States—across all five grades. That remarkable feat has earned her and her equine partner, Divino, a coveted invitation to the Festival of Champions, a prestigious national competition featuring the top ten para rider-horse pairs in the country. For Sienna, the road to the Festival is not just a competitive milestone—it’s a step closer to an even greater dream: international competition and the Paralympic Games.

Her current mount, Divino, has been more than just a teammate. At 25 years old, the seasoned horse has carried Sienna through pivotal moments in her journey. “He’s taught me so much,” she says. “We’ve grown together.” But as Divino nears retirement, Sienna is already preparing for the future. She is currently training her next hopeful partner, Zephyr, a promising horse she is carefully developing for the next phase of her international campaign.

Sienna’s commitment to excellence in the saddle is matched only by her resilience and love for the sport. As a Grade III para athlete, her journey hasn’t been without challenges—but she meets each one with grace, determination, and a passion that inspires all who watch her ride. Whether she’s perfecting a dressage test, soaring over jumps, or practicing the art of vaulting, Sienna’s message is clear: disability is not limitation.

With Festival of Champions on the horizon and Zephyr in training, Sienna Busking is poised to become a powerful force on the world stage. And if her trajectory so far is any indication, the international equestrian community would be wise to keep their eyes on Oklahoma—because Sienna isn’t just riding for ribbons. She’s riding for history.
