Rock Star Dressage Saddle
Rock Star Dressage Saddle
FITS TREE TYPE A
Designed for Short-Backed, Wide-Barrel Ponies
Crafted from supple cowhide leather and finished with wool-flocked panels, the ROCK STAR provides a comfortable, supportive feel for both pony and rider. Its thoughtfully positioned billet system, adjustable Velcro blocks, moulded knee pad, and secure deep seat help support a balanced dressage position while maintaining close, effective contact.
What Makes the ROCK STAR Different?
The ROCK STAR was developed specifically with the needs of short-backed, wide-barrel ponies in mind. Its wider panel profile helps distribute the rider's weight across a broader area of the pony's back, while the generous channel provides appropriate clearance through the center of the saddle.
The design also provides additional freedom around the shoulder, helping the pony move comfortably and naturally during schooling and dressage work.
For the rider, a secure, deep seat provides added stability for big-moving ponies, while the moulded knee pad offers additional support. Adjustable Velcro blocks allow the leg support to be customized for individual rider preference.

Pony Benefits
The wider panel profile is designed to distribute weight more evenly across a broad, flatter back. Enhanced shoulder freedom allows greater movement through the shoulder, while wool flocking provides adjustability and effective heat dissipation.

The ROCK STAR includes a set of three interchangeable gullet plates with purchase.
Important: The ROCK STAR adjusts to a maximum width of Wide – 30 cm.

How do I know what seat size best fits my child?
View Answer
Seat size is determined by a combination of the space your child requires in the seat without sitting on the rise of the cantle, along with the length of the rider’s leg.
The optimum riding position is for the rider’s seat bones/pelvis to rest in the flattest part of the seat while allowing the leg to comfortably reach the knee rolls or exterior block without extending over the front of the flap.
For a more accurate evaluation, Karen Borne recommends sending a current full side-view photo of your child sitting in a saddle to rubyroosaddles@gmail.com for a complimentary consultation through Ruby Roo Saddles.
